Receiving a bad report from the doctor can throw your emotions into a tail spin. Maybe it’s diabetes, cancer, liver disease, a brain tumor or heart disease; the list can go on and on. But whatever the report, fear will engulf your mind immediately and it will take everything you have to stop these thoughts from taking over your mind. You may want to cry hysterically, or the anxiety may be so strong that you can’t do anything but pace the floor and question why this is happening to you. Satan will take every opportunity to invade your peace. Thoughts begin to bombard your mind, “you are going to die.” This is the biggest lie that satan brings against us when we get a bad report. God’s word tells us in Psalms 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.” Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” If satan can come in and get fear to take over your life, then he can defeat you.
“You thought you were a good Christian. Now look at what you are going through, you must have failed miserably to have this sickness come upon you.” This is another big lie from the enemy to hinder your faith. We must remember that the Bible states that it rains on the just and the unjust. Just remember, those who pose the greatest threat to the enemy will most likely suffer more attacks from the enemy. The enemy hates anyone who stands up for the truth. Satan doesn’t want us to spread the gospel and be soul-winners for Christ. Psalms 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” None of us are perfect that is why Jesus had to die on the cross and shed his precious blood for our sins. Jesus paid it all for us; for our salvation and for our healing.
God is our healer and He wants us to trust Him through every aspect of our life. You can come out victoriously when you put your faith in Jesus, His Word and what He did on the cross. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Paul was saying that he couldn’t do anything in his own ability, but through the faith that Christ had placed in his heart through the Word of God, he could do all things with the strength of Christ.
Physical illness can be very draining on your body and your emotions. Many times people will have to go through a lot of painful tests to determine a treatment plan from the doctor. This is another area where renewing your mind is critical. No one likes to be put through painful and extensive testing, but Jesus said He would never leave us nor forsake us. He is always right there beside you to hold your hand and strengthen you. Spending a lot of time with the Lord will bring peace to your mind and spirit. Jesus will calm the storm that is raging in your life.
Search the Bible for healing scriptures and stand on them. Faith isn’t what we see, it is what the Word of God says about our situation. James 1:22 states that we must be doers of the word, and not hearers only. We must act on the word of God, not on our emotions. “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17. We may not feel healed but God’s word says in 1 Peter 2:24, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” We are already healed, it is up to us to accept it. By standing on God’s Word and praying your spirit will be revived. Once your spirit is strong then every other aspect of your life will have to line up with the Word of God, including your body.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
