God’s Cure For Anxiety
Connerville, IN 47331
Receiving a bad report from the doctor can throw your emotions into a tail spin. Maybe it’s diabetes, cancer, liver disease, a brain tumor or heart disease; the list can go on and on. But whatever the report, fear will engulf your mind immediately and it will take everything you have to stop these thoughts from taking over your mind. You may want to cry hysterically, or the anxiety may be so strong that you can’t do anything but pace the floor and question why this is happening to you. Satan will take every opportunity to invade your peace. Thoughts begin to bombard your mind, “you are going to die.” This is the biggest lie that satan brings against us when we get a bad report. God’s word tells us in Psalms 91:16 “With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.” Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” If satan can come in and get fear to take over your life, then he can defeat you.
“You thought you were a good Christian. Now look at what you are going through, you must have failed miserably to have this sickness come upon you.” This is another big lie from the enemy to hinder your faith. We must remember that the Bible states that it rains on the just and the unjust. Just remember, those who pose the greatest threat to the enemy will most likely suffer more attacks from the enemy. The enemy hates anyone who stands up for the truth. Satan doesn’t want us to spread the gospel and be soul-winners for Christ. Psalms 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” None of us are perfect that is why Jesus had to die on the cross and shed his precious blood for our sins. Jesus paid it all for us; for our salvation and for our healing.
God is our healer and He wants us to trust Him through every aspect of our life. You can come out victoriously when you put your faith in Jesus, His Word and what He did on the cross. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Paul was saying that he couldn’t do anything in his own ability, but through the faith that Christ had placed in his heart through the Word of God, he could do all things with the strength of Christ.
Physical illness can be very draining on your body and your emotions. Many times people will have to go through a lot of painful tests to determine a treatment plan from the doctor. This is another area where renewing your mind is critical. No one likes to be put through painful and extensive testing, but Jesus said He would never leave us nor forsake us. He is always right there beside you to hold your hand and strengthen you. Spending a lot of time with the Lord will bring peace to your mind and spirit. Jesus will calm the storm that is raging in your life.
Search the Bible for healing scriptures and stand on them. Faith isn’t what we see, it is what the Word of God says about our situation. James 1:22 states that we must be doers of the word, and not hearers only. We must act on the word of God, not on our emotions. “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17. We may not feel healed but God’s word says in 1 Peter 2:24, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” We are already healed, it is up to us to accept it. By standing on God’s Word and praying your spirit will be revived. Once your spirit is strong then every other aspect of your life will have to line up with the Word of God, including your body.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let
them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Second Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him [Jesus] are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if
thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him,
saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy
God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and
thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put
none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them
upon all them that hate thee.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine
house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all
thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth
with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I
say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
I even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare
thou, that thou mayest be justified.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not
shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the
promise of the Spirit through faith.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Let the weak say, I am strong.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Third John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
First Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
First John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
First John 3:21-22
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
Second Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Second Corinthians 10:4-5
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
First Kings 8:56
Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel,
according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother
laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him
whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God
